While she was growing up, Hoa loved the regular visits she made to the salon with her sister and mother. This early inspiration led her to study hairdressing at Vancouver Island University, graduating in 1997. Hoa worked in salons for five years, and then realized the dream of opening her own salon. After five years in Yaletown, she moved to her current location in the heart of downtown Vancouver – a beautiful salon on the 6th floor of the historic Vancouver Block building.
Now a hairstylist for over 16 years, Hoa specializes in cutting, advanced colouring, permanent waving, relaxing (all kinds of straightening including Japanese straightening), and hair extensions. Her clientele is drawn from people who either work or live in the city, or who travel from neighbouring communities to have their hair beautified while spending time in the city, while some are vacationing from further afield.
Hoa’s expertise comes from her commitment to being creative for her clients. This award-winning stylist tailors her creations to each person’s unique head shape and face shape while being mindful of their personality and lifestyle, and believes it is of the utmost importance for a hairstylist to work together with their client, providing advice as needed and answering their concerns.
I just wanted to let you know that I’m so happy with the job you did on my hair. The highlights/colour is great, and I have been using my flat iron to curl my hair. I’ve been getting so many compliments.
Thank you very much!!
Have a great day
Been seeing Hoa for over 8 years now! The salon is conveniently located, and Hoa is very good at what she does.
Hoa has been cutting my hair for over 10yr. I walked by her salon (old location) on Helmcken St back in 2002 and stopped in for a cut. I’ve never looked back. The only time I’ve used another hairdresser was when she was pregnant and it was never the same. I’m a very picky guy when it comes to my hair and Hoa cuts it perfect every time. That being said….I’m loyal to Hoa because she is also an amazing person and I always enjoy being in her chair catching up.
